Rangers rescue overambitious kitty who plunged into water to chase some birds
A man captured the incredible moment of a cat being rescued from a reservoir by the rangers after the kitty plunged into the water to chase a bird.
The poor little kitty was overwhelmed after she realized she got herself into a little trouble, and just kept swimming around in circles until rescuers arrived.

Geoff Eagle was at Thrybergh Country Park in Rotherham, South Yorkshire (UK), with a friend last week. When they were sitting outside a cafe watching birds, suddenly they spotted a large flock of around 100 birds take to the air and the water.
"Pigeons, geese, ducks all flew into the air because the cat was running down the slipway trying to catch them, It carried straight on into the water without hesitation," Eagle told Love Meow.
He couldn't believe his eyes. He's never seen anything like it in the 20 years he's been visiting the park.

The birds, after the initial shock that a cat was in the water with them, started to swim along the kitty and follow her.

Eagle, who is a professional photographer, decided to capture the strange scene unfold. But after he realized that the cat was swimming in circles, he was worried she wouldn't return back to shore.
"(The cat) was surrounded by ducks, coots, moorhens, swans and geese and it took me a couple of minutes to realise it was not going to get out so I rang the rangers straightaway."

The rangers safely pulled the cat out of the water and into their boat. It took them roughly 20/25 minutes to launch the boat and row across the resevoir to save the swimming kitty.

"The cat was then taken to the vet's and it had a chip so its owner was traced to Doncaster. It appears the cat may have been stolen. The owner is delighted to have the cat back."
