These GPS maps show us how active and adventurous cats REALLY are...
Do you know where your cat is going?
This will definitely surprise you!
The Central Tablelands Local Land Services in Australia used GPS trackers to map out the activity of people’s pet cats.
The aim of the project was to show owners how far their cats were venturing into the wild - which in Austrailia is affecting the wildlife population.
“Cats are given a pretty bad rap. In terms of the damage they do to biodiversity, to native fauna and flora,” said Peter Evans, a senior land officer to Mashable. He added, “You always get the comment from owners that their cat doesn’t roam … but we thought it was a great visual to show owners where cats go when they don’t know where they are, because generally a lot of cats are unrestrained.”
