See the extraordinary moment when cub pulls a TRANQUILIZER DART out of a lioness's side
This is the remarkable moment a young lion cub tries to save his companion from being tranquilized by attempting to pull a dart out of her body.
The lioness was struck by the dart at the Ol-Pejeta conservancy in Kenya by conservationists monitoring the movement of the big cats. They wanted to peacefully treat her paw that was suffering from a disease that showed a visible sore.
The cub of course didn't know, and wanted to help his friend that was "stung" by a foreign object. The wildlife conservancy captured the touching moment of love and friendship shared between the lions.
After the lioness was subdued, a wildlife ranger cautiously approached her so he could give her treatment.
The vets then got to work with much needed medical relief and also set up a radio collar on her neck so they could track her movements.
Soon after treatment, the sleepy lioness began to wake up. She was already feeling much better!
She later got to her feet and joined the rest of the animals in the wild at the Ol Pejeta conservancy in Kenya, especially her concerned cub friend.
All animals can show love and compassion. And these lions were no different.
