Italian coast guard performs CPR on drowning kitten in this incredible rescue
An Italian coastguard has successfully given CPR to a motionless kitten which was pulled out of the Mediterranean Sea.
A group of children notified the Italian Coast Guard after spotting a kitten floating in the water near the port of Marsala in southern Italy.
A crew member dived into the water and retrieved the "lifeless" cat before performing performing mouth-to-mouth and gentle chest compressions.
After a few minutes the kitten showed signs of life. He began to expel water and finally let out a faint meow!

Once the boat returned to land the kitten was dried and comforted. After a trip to the vet, he was nursed back to health.
The port authorities were so touched by this rescue, that they decided to adopt the little miracle kitten and named him Charlie.
Charlie is now a happy healthy cat, all thanks to these heroes who refused to give up on the "lifeless" kitten floating at sea.
