From sickly feral calico to a pampered princess, this cat reminds us that each life is worth saving
Skye is one of the most incredible feral rescues we've ever posted! She reminds us that every life is worth saving, and her transformation from feral to loving house kitty is incredible!
Meet Skye!
Skye was a feral cat living in the woods when she was trapped and rescued. Terrified, her rescuers tried to assure her that she would be taken care of.
She came into Tiny Kittens HQ and was found to be pregnant and nearly blind.
With love and patience, Skye began to trust her rescuers a little more each day.
She became very fond of sitting in sinks.
Just when things were looking up for Skye - she went into labor. She had to be rushed to the vet and have an emergency c-section.
Against all odds, out came 4 tiny miracles.
The hard part seemed to be finally over for Skye, but Skye's difficult journey wasn't over yet.
7 weeks after giving birth, Skye was found unresponsive on the floor. After being rushed back to the vet, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
"ER vets recommended euthanasia because they had never heard of a cat as sick as Skye being adopted out. We refused to give up on her, because she deserved a chance," Tiny Kittens reported.
Skye had overcome so much already, her rescuers kept fighting for her. They knew it would be nearly impossible for her to find a home willing to adopt her (her kittens were already adopted out into loving homes), so they decided to keep her as happy and comfy as possible while closely monitoring her health.
Then a miracle happened!
A wonderful woman named Kari was following Skye's story and fell in love with her. Kari adopted Skye, who is now a pampered princess surrounded by love, comfort and the very best medical care for as many days as she has left.
Skye is spoiled beyond belief, and the little calico deserves it!
She's so happy in her new home.
She's had quite the journey, but she's now in her forever home and given all the love she could ever want.
She is living proof that feral cats can live gloriously happy lives if given the chance.
Skye was worth saving.
