Cat born with a lobster claw finds forever home (Gallery)
Lobstah the cat was born with a deformed paw, a crooked tail and no sternum...and doctors saved his life at four months old.
Now he's in his forever home!
Meet Lobstah!
A rescue cat from San Francisco, Lobstah was fighting for his life when found as a kitten.
After being taken to the San Francisco Animal Care and Control, they found that the kitten had stopped eating and drinking, having trouble with his litter box and was having difficulty breathing.
He was then taken in by the SFSPCA and knew Lobstah was near death.
They found a specialist who, with a team of doctors, came together to give the kitten life saving surgery, closing up the hole in his diaphragm, "building" a chest wall as best as they could, and several other procedures.
Lobstah, proving he wanted to live, recovered faster than anyone could have expected.
Within 24 hours he was eating, and within the week he was walking out the door.
The SFSPCA loved his fighting spirit and believed he was ready for a loving home. They put Lobstah up for adoption.
John and Leda, who were searching for a new companion to their cat Lady Bunny after their beloved senior kitty Velveteen has passed away.
"The SFSPCA has a couple of kitten windows to the right in the main lobby, and we couldn't help but notice this little guy wearing the cone of shame, and with a deformed right front paw," John said.
"His name caught our attention too: Lobstah."
As it turns out, John and Leda needed to be vetted. Lobstah was considered a special needs cat, and the SPCA would not let just anyone walk out with him. They had to prove that they were willing to provide Lobstah the love and support he would need.
"Leda broke down in tears as soon as she saw him. He was tiny and adorable, as we had seen through the window, but his chest and belly were one long suture. He appeared to potentially be very fragile," John told Love Meow.
They fell in love and knew that Lobstah would be coming home. Shortly after they adopted him!
Lobstah has been so grateful to be taken in and just couldn't be happier.
He loves to help his humans with the computer.
Napping in laps is one of his favorite things to do. He's such a love bug!
Nobody expected Lobstah to beat the odds, but this little guy is proof that every life is worth saving.
