Disease ridden, declawed, and too weak to stand... this senior cat showed up at the right house (Gallery)
This senior cat was probably on her last life when she wandered up to this family's home.
Luckily, it was meant to be, because now she's enjoying retirement!
Meet Newton!
"This old lady starting coming up to me outside our house, starved and covered with bald patches and fleas. Front paws declawed, so weak she could barely meow or stand up for extended periods of time," her human dad shared on imgur.
"After a couple days of giving her food and water outside we made arrangements to get her fixed up."
She was not a fan of the carrier...
But she was a big fan of being inside a nice warm home.
"Besides being on death's door from lack of food/water, the vet found she had hyperthyroidism to boot."
"I named her Newton, since the other cats are also named after scientists and Newt makes for a cute nickname with a bonus Aliens reference."
"This is her usual expression now. After getting some meat back on her bones she quickly established herself as the alpha of the house among the cats, I assume because of her age and "I've seen some shit" attitude. Even without her claws the other animals are really cautious about not annoying her."
"It's not clear how long she'll keep kicking but she's certainly going to be happy and comfy until then."
From disease-ridden stray to happy napper, cheers to this old gal's happy retirement!
