A man was driving through freezing temperatures when he noticed a little lump on the side of the road.

Countless cars passed by, many not even slowing down to look, but this man couldn’t ignore what was clearly an animal in need of help.

He got out of his car to check on the poor animal and realized it was cat… barely clinging to its life. He knew he had to save her.

The man rushed the cat to the vet, where the cat (identified as a 6 month old female) was grateful to be inside and warm.

Sadly, the cat had to have her tail amputated from severe frostbite, but the silver lining was that she was lucky to be alive.

They named the little girl Nika and her personality started to shine through.

Nika is now in a loving home and she couldn’t be happier.
