One of the "soulmate" cats is in critical care – she needs our help
Remember Sophie and Scottie, the two adorable soulmates who love to take walks together?
We ran a story about these two love birds and we were touched by their adorable love story.
Scottie has been coming to see Sophie everyday for the past two years, and sadly that streak is in danger right now, because Sophie needs our help.
This past Friday, Sophie suddenly got very ill. She couldn’t stop vomiting a white fluid, and after some scary vet trips, she was found to have one of the largest hairballs the surgeon has ever seen.
The surgery was successful, but unfortunately Sophie vomited during incubation and some fluid got into her lungs which has now turned into aspiration pneumonia.
Sophie has been fighting ever since.
She’s been in critical care and hooked to a ventilator with 24/7 care from doctors.
“The plan right now is for her to slowly improve over the next few days on the ventilator until she can be weened off of it. She started at 100% oxygen, decreased to 50% later today and last checked remained at that level. She would need to be at 20-30% oxygen levels to be ready to come off of it as regular rooms are 20% and the oxygen chamber is 40%. If she need extra days on it so be it but we're hoping for the best. If that happened she would be moved to an oxygen chamber for a few days to stabilize. It's not an easy road but we want her healthy and home again and will not give up,” Sophie’s parents shared on their YouCaring page.
As you can imagine, Sophie’s vet bills have skyrocketed. They need our help and any donation makes a difference.
Please visit their YouCaring page and consider making a donation. Send them prayers and positive thoughts as well.
You can also follow Sophie's updates on her Instagram page.
We believe Sophie is going to get through this, because nothing can stop true love.
Help bring Sophie back to Scottie and share this with your friends!
