Woman saves kitten from busy highway, gets a ticket
Christina Hamlett was driving down the highway in Virginia when she spotted something small and furry lying on the side of the road.
Right away she could tell it was a poor helpless kitten and she immediately rushed to the rescue.

She decided to turn into the Authorized Vehicle Only area as she believed it was an emergency, but she still got a ticket.
No ticket was going to stop her, however, and she was determined to be the hero this kitten so desperately needed.
"I circled back and low and behold, the kitty was alive… We think he was thrown because he suffered from a head trauma," Christina told Love Meow.
She scooped up the kitten and wrapped him up in a towel, and in that moment, the kitten realized that everything was going to be okay.

She named him “Lucky”.

Lucky was taken to the vet and was immediately treated for his injuries.

Two weeks later and Lucky has made a full recovery!
"He's doing great! A good friend of mine (from St. Francis Humane Association) is taking really good care of him," Christina told Love Meow.

Lucky is learning to love and trust again. He’s a typical happy and playful kitten.
He is currently in foster care and he can’t wait to move into his forever home!

All thanks to Christina, this little guy got a second chance. And as for the ticket, well, we hope the courts dismiss this as justifiable cause.
