Your next coworker might be an office cat
If you live in Florida, your dream may come true of working with someone who just totally rocks all the time. That's right, an adorable kitty.
"Office Cat" is a new program out of the Humane Society of Broward County. The Humane Society of Broward County is seeking local businesses to hire (foster) temporary workers to fill the position of Office Cat until a permanent position (adoption) can be secured.
This of course is a win-win for humans and the cats themselves. The humans not only get to play with adorable cats, and it is well known that cats reduce stress and improve the general health of humans, the cats get human interaction and the search for forever homes.
"It provides more exposure for the cats to help them find a permanent home faster, and gives them more freedom, space, comfort and enrichment outside of a shelter environment," HSBC spokesperson Adam Goldberg told The Huffington Post. "Finding pets a permanent home is our top priority and fostering pets outside of the shelter has proven to be a very successful way of doing so."
As you can see on this helpful FAQ, the shelter provides food, a litter box, veterinary care and other supplies. The sleeping arrangements are flexible: cats can go home with a workplace volunteer at night, or sleep over at the office.
You don't have to worry about paying them with "stoopy" human money, for they'd rather get paid with love, cuddles, and a few treats here and there.
